McCoin Leaves MHS As All Time Leader

The Mississinewa Indian Football team is losing a key element to their team. Senior Cade McCoin leaves Mississinewa as the all time leader, passing the ball for 5,109 yards in his four years at the QB Position. McCoin also threw for 56 TD’s while at the school. In addition, he holds the single season record with 2,154 yards passing and 26 TD’s in 2017. Cade McCoin was also voted by his coach to earn the Warrior of the Year in 2016 and 2017. McCoin was voted 1st Team All-CIC in 2016 and 2017. With that being said, the next QB at MHS has big shoes to fill.

Andrew Evertts and the Mississinewa Indian Boys Basketball team get the first look at their team tonight as they travel to Southern Wells for a preseason scrimmage against the Raiders. After a successful 2016/2017 season the coaching staff is looking for big things out of this seasons team after only losing 5 Seniors from last years team.

Marion Design Company received a grant to finish their city website, the Company was awarded $6,000 from the Community Foundation of Grant County to help them through the final phase in the creation of the new City of Marion website.

A Greek’s Pizzeria is coming to upland, Mike Bandor and the Pizzeria is banking on. The popular Indiana pizza chain with locations in Muncie, Anderson, Noblesville and many more will be bringing Greek’s Pizzeria.

Taylor University is kicking it back to the 1960s with eight songs selected for the performance have been transcribed for jazz instruments, Albert Harrison, music chairman at Taylor, said the band’s message or discontent and change in their later years match with the cries of the community today.

The Glorious season for the Mississinewa Indian Football team ended this past Friday with a loss to Greenwood 34-27. A season that I personally will never forget and I know the coaches and players will never forget. And from the words of Coach Funk after winning a sectional championship “you done something tonight that no one can take away from you, you are champions!”
