Come and join the fun at Indian Summer Academy, this is for any current 9th, 10th or 11th graders.  There will be 8 sessions from May 28th through June 20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am – 2pm here at Mississinewa High School.  You will earn tickets towards awesome prizes. Drawings will be every Tuesday and Thursday. You will be able to do coursework on Acellus and have some workshops on the Tuesdays and Thursday meetings.  Workshops are optional and include: Book club, Baking, 3D Printing, Art Projects, Board Games, Ballroom Dancing and many more. When you complete the Acellus work time throughout June, you’ll be allowed to keep your computer for the remainder of the summer. You can pick-up forms in the office.  See Mrs. Rumple if you have questions.

Boys Baseball tonight against Norwell starts at 5 be there.

Softball rolls past Lady Raiders, Recap on Last Night

The Mississinewa varsity baseball team traveled to Yorktown last night and had a rough night on the field, losing 5-0. The Tribe didn’t put up any hits, with only one runner put on base by a walk. Landen Swanner and Holden Brown were put on the mound.

Mississinewa Softball hosted a Varsity and JV double header. The varsity won 10-0 in 5 innings. Jenna Berryhill threw a one-hitter, Lexie Cruzen went 2 for 3. The JV team also won.

Lady Indians tennis team lost 4-1 to preseason rank #28 the Marion Lady Giants at home. Maggie Herring was the only Lady Indian that won at 3-singles. The JV also lost 3-1. The Tribe could have a chance to meet up again with Marion in sectional 36 later this season.

April 2nd boys/girls track has a meet at Muncie burris against them and anderson prep academy .  Over spring break the baseball team has 3 games and 2 of them are away and 1 home. Girls softball has their first game April 3rd home against wapahani. The health stress fair is this Thursday (tomorrow) in the cafeteria. Purdue is hosting a gardener training class that is a 13 week course will be held on every Thursday through May 30, 2019. This volunteer training includes certification to serve and assist the Purdue Extension county offices with home horticulture and gardening education in local communities. The first six classes will be held at the Grant County 4-H Fairgrounds and the last seven will be held at the Blackford County 4-H Fairgrounds. $150 per person or $200 for a couple sharing materials.

The boys and girls track teams had double victories last night defeating Muncie Burris and Anderson Prep.  The Boys Team was lead by 3 event winner Elijah Standridge, and double event winners of Heisman Skeens and Brennan Butche.

The Girls Team was lead by triple event winners, Carli Fones, Beth Lucas, and Haleigh Skeens.

Setting School Records were Carli Fones in the 200m and Elijah Standridge in the 100m.

Baseball seniors start fourth season with scott

The baseball season has been here since March 11th for the Mississinewa Indians but mother nature has taken control and hasn’t let the Tribe to be in a game yet. There has been two games cancelled so far this season and and the team hopes to play against the Yorktown Tigers in Yorktown tomorrow. Coach Scott who is starting his fourth season as Indians head coach is not alone, having his seniors with him for their final year is something special. Scott has Even Hammond and Kyle Zabst on his coaching staff for the varsity team for the 2019 season. Hammond entering his third season with the Tribe will be leading the Indians outfielders and Zabst who is entering his first season will be leading the Indians pitching staff. Indians are hoping to Start 1-0 on the season as they take on the Tigers tomorrow.

A homeowner in Marion had called the Marion Police Department saying he suspected someone had broke into his garage and that he would clean it out the next day to see if anything was stolen. When cleaning out his garage the day after he noticed his safe was knocked over and a dead body underneath of it. Police were called and confirmed the robber had been crushed to death by the over 900 pound safe.
