Comments from the Coach

“It’s hard to beat a good team three times in the same season, you can throw seedings out at this point it doesn’t really mean anything” said Coach Greg Tonagel. “Taylor has a lot of weapons I think it starts with Ryan Robinson by you can’t really key in on him because of the other guys they have that support him”, “you can’t quantify the leadership of Ben and Jacob when we were at our lows this season they have pulled us through the tough times this season, when we get to the national tournament those will be the guys we will have to rely on to pull us through” said Greg Tonagel.

Josh Andrews- “Our guys get excited to play Wesleyan they have been to top team in the conference with some consistently over the past few years and so the atmosphere of this game is always awesome”. “Its an absolute must we win this tournament to allow to make the national tournament”. “We want to force Mangas to take tough shots he is a big, physical, athletic guard we need to keep him out of the paint”. “Our guys get up in the big game atmosphere they love to have a great crowd behind them and I hope they travel with us tonight”.

What the IAM3rd Culture Means

“It’s god first others second yourself third”, “We are taught that we are the center of the universe and if I can take care of my needs first I am going to be more productive but its the exact opposite in life the more we focus in on ourselves the more miserable we are and its the same concept on the basketball court  the more I focus on myself the less productive I become for the team as a result the less successful the team becomes” Said Tonagel.

Mayweather vs. McGregor, named fight of the century, some people disagree. Many people were unsatisfied with the fight as many people say the fight was “rigged” and “ended too early”. The fight managed to last to Round 10 where the referee stopped it and gave Mayweather the win, which people classify as a “rigged decision” which made many people mad as it was one of the most bet on fights ever.

Young Thug was never told that he won a VMA. During the VMA’s Young Thug was the winner of one of the awards, however he was never told this in advanced so he wasn’t there to accept the award. Imagine winning something and not even knowing about it, thats exactly what happened to Young Thug. He didn’t know about the award until the day after when he was told by one of his managers that he won a VMA. Young Thug said himself “At first I thought he was lying, but I was excited to find out it was true. It would’ve been nice to know in advance though.”

Indians Football Ramping Up!

Story By: Dalton BishopDB
dbish2018@olemiss.k12.in.us

The Mississinewa Indians come into the 2017 season off of a stellar performance in 2016 going undefeated in the regular season and winning the CIC Conference making them 9-0. The Indians then went onto win the first round sectional game against the Logansport Berries making them a perfect 10-0. The very next week the Indians traveled to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger for sectional round 2 where they would lose their first and final game of the season ending them at 10-1 on the year.

Now for the positive side of things The Indians are returning Senior Cade Mccoin for his fourth season at the QB position with the cousin duo of Junior Heisman Skeens and Sophomore Cade Campbell joining him in the backfield. Mccoin ended the 2016 season 89/139 completing 64% of his passes. Mccoin also threw for 1,500 yards for 21 TD’s. Rushing Mccoin had 225 yards and 8 TD’s. The Indians also return Senior Dustin Patton to defensive side of things, Patton comes off of a 2nd place finish in the conference tackles just shy of his teammate the graduated Nick Barrett. Patton ended with 135 tackles and Barrett ended with 148.

With the new sectional draw the Indians have been moved from Sectional 20 to Sectional 21. The Tribes number 1 goal is to win the conference but they are really hunting that Sectional title. Curt Funk Returns to the sidelines as the head coach for the Indians 46-29 coming into his 8th season. The team motto for the 2017 season is DAT 63 Discipline, Accountability and Toughess 63 stands for 6 second player with 3 great efforts. Best of luck to the Indians this coming weekend as they travel to Lapel for the start of the 2017 regular season. Game time is 7pm.
