When it comes to the county tournament, its anyone’s game. Game 1 of the tournament was the Mississinewa Indians against the Oak Hill Golden Eagles. Indians knew they had to win to advance and also go 2-0 against the Golden Eagles. Ole Miss beat Oak Hill about 2 weeks ago. The Indians did go 2-0 by beating Oak Hill 65-53 in the morning session. The long day goes on and the Indians waited to see who they will play in the championship. Game 2 featured the Eastbrook Panthers and the Madison-Grant Argylles. The ball game went back and forth, Madison-Grant went on top of the scoreboard with a final score of 60-53. After the second game, Ole Miss and Madison-Grant took a break before the championship game. Then it was time that both teams take Fredenberger Court for The Championship. “The tip is up and controlled by the Indians” it was on from there. At the half, Indians were up 38-31 with Swanner, McClung, and Skeens each with 8 points at the half. At the end of the third quarter, the Indians only let MG score 8 points. Mississinewa took the victory 69-62. Landen Swanner lead the Indians with 21 points.
Congratulations to Coach Reed for getting his first Grant 4 win as a head coach and the rest of the Indians on a well-deserved win.
