For the third time in five years, the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats have a chance to raise another red banner inside of Luckey Arena. The Wildcats defeated #1 Ranked IU East 75-72. Joel Okafor led the Wildcats going 6-6 from the floor and 6-6 from the free throw to give him a career high 18 points. Kyle Mangas added 20 points and 6 rebounds, Evan Maxwell also added 15 points and 12 rebounds. “It was very physical. Extremely physical. But at the end we made one more play. Before the free throws we were up one and that is what these games come down to. This is our fourth game in five days and our guys are absolutely exhausted. It wasn’t the prettiest basketball but when you win and move on you sure feel pretty good.” Said Indiana Wesleyan head coach Greg Tonagel. “I didn’t want to take him out. He was so special tonight. He did it on both ends of the floor. He came up big and made those free throws and then that stop at the end. He made that kid take a difficult shot at the buzzer.” said Tonagel about Joel Okafor. The Wildcats will go for championship #3 in 5 years as they take on St. Francis tonight at 7pm on ESPN3.
