A long road to recovery, but now it is here, Jerod May has returned to the starting lineup. It was Senior night in Gas City last Friday evening for the Misssissinewa Indians. The Seniors Conner Wilson, Trey Jones, Elijah Bounds, Thabit Gault, Jalen Martin, and Jerod May were recognized. But the question was in the air would Jerod May play? It was now game time and time to meet the starters, “At another guard 6’0″ Senior #12 Jalen Martin”, “And returning to the starting lineup 6’0″ Senior #10 Jerod May!” The Indian fans rose to their feet and cheered in excitement for May’s return. The Indians started the weekend off taking on arch rival Eastbrook, The Indians defeated the Panthers 68-52 led by Senior Thabit Gault with 29 points. Jerod May had 5 points in his Indian return. On Saturday Evening Coach Evertts and the squad would travel to Bluffton to take on the Tigers. “REDHOT” might not even describe Jalen Martin, He was scorching the Tigers all night long from deep going 6/7 from long range and 7/8 from the field to lead the Indians to victory 62-42. Jerod May had 3 points. “It feels good to be back on the court, when you sit on the bench each and every game you just want to be their playing with your team” said May. “I’m just going with the flow of things and I don’t want to rush anything and risk getting injured again”. Coach Evertts and the Tribe head to New Castle tonight to take on the class 3A #1 Ranked Trojans, they are back home on Thursday to end out the regular season against Kokomo Taylor. The Indians will play Heritage in Class 3A Sectional 23 a week from today at 7:30 at Norwell High School.
