The Mississinewa School Board has approved a salary increase for non-teacher and non-administrator employees, custodians, bus drivers, and food servers received a 1.5 percent salary increase for the 17-18 school year, Teachers also received a salary increase at a base rate of $700.

A shed and some vehicles were heavily damaged during a fire at a county property Tuesday afternoon, Mill and Center Township volunteer fire departments were dispatched to 1576 S. 350 E. at about 12:35 pm to a structure fire engulfed in flames involving many vehicles, Fire Chief Rob Columbus says.

Many were without power for some time following the severe weather Sunday. According to Tracy Warner, communications consultant for Indiana Michigan Power, as many as 4,000 homes in Grant County didn’t have power on Sunday night the number went down to 200 Monday morning.
