Mastodon is definitely one of my favorite modern bands.Newer bands try to be loud and muddy where as Mastodon just does it right by being raw and heavy. Mastodons newest album “emperor of sand” was released on March 31 , 2017. Two singles , “Show yourself” and “Steam breather”,were released with the album .Emperor of sand shows the evolution of  their sound as it becomes more melodic while still keeping their raw tone. If your looking for a different sounding metal album then I recommend “Emperor of sand” by Mastodon.
