On Tuesday the girls soccer team headed to Oak Hill high school for some Tuesday night soccer action and opening round in the conference. The Lady Indians came out very agressive and ready to play. Seniors Natalee South, Holli Greer, Courtney Cansler, and Gabby Stephenson were very active in the first half of the match. The Lady Indians saw Freshman Alayna Webb take the field for the first time in 3 games which proved to play a big role in the confidence level of the team. Later in the first half an Oak Hill Lady Golden Eagle goal would give them a 1-0 lead at the halftime break. At the half head coach Andrea Wilson gave some words of advice to the team and words of encouragement by telling them “this is by far the best first half we have played all year”, “this game is not over we just need to step it up this second half”. In the second half the Golden Eagles would score 2 more goals giving them a 3-0 lead over the Lady Indians. Freshman Taylor Ulerick would have a chance to score at the 12:21 mark in the 2nd half but her attempt would be blocked by the golden eagle goalie. At the 10 minute mark in the 2nd half a scare for the Lady Indians would occur when Junior Beth Lucas would pass the ball off to her teammate and drop straight to the ground. Lucas a transfer from Stayton High School in Oregon had to come out of the game for few minutes to be evaluated and she would then return to the game to finish it out strong. The Lady Indians fell to Oak Hill 3-0 and will be back at home Saturday at 10am to play Whitko.
