The 8-6 Mississinewa Lady Indiana will travel to Adams Central tomorrow morning for a Round Robin tournament featuring Mississinewa, Adams Central, and Angola. The Lady Indians will Adams Central in the first game starting at 10am. Junior Erika Foy will take the mound after her best performance of 2017 last night at Eastbrook.
Recap of Eastbrook/Mississinewa
The Lady Indians fell to Eastbrook 2-1. In the 5th Inning Freshman Lexi Cruzan hit a liner in the right centerfield gap that plated Mallory Sands to give the Indians their first lead of the game and to score the first run of the game. Mississinewa Led 1-0 after the 5th and 6th. In the 7th Inning an Alli Hyatt double to left field started the Lady Panther rally. An Erika Foy passed ball moved Hyatt to 3rd as she would be the game tying run. 2 batters later a Lady Panther ground ball plated Hyatt to tie the game at 1-1. On the same play miscommunication between 1st baseman Kait Leavitt and 2nd baseman Kenzie Skeens would allow Lady Panther Sierra Shook to score from 2nd to give the Lady Panthers a “walkoff.”
Game 2 at Adams Central
In game 2 the Lady Indians will take on Angola. The Indians will send Junior Kait Leavitt to the mound, and possibly Freshman Standout Jenna Berryhill. Berryhill pitched 1 Inning at Daleville Wednesday night and struck out the side. Leavitt and Berryhill combined to give up only 1 hit at Daleville.
