We are midway through the 2017 Mississinewa Lady Indian softball season and the Lady Indians stand at 9-2 overall and 1-1 in the CIC conference. For the Lady Indians it has been somewhat a roller coaster of a season, from trying to find the right fit at the Shortstop position to a what could of been possibly one of the worst outings in quite sometime the Lady Indians are determined to win the CIC Outright and to continue the bond as a team.

11 Game Recap

The Mississinewa Lady Indians are 11 games into the regular season. The Ladies started off on a 5 game win streak before picking up their first loss of the season losing 10-4 to a very good Bellmont Lady Braves team. After a loss to Bellmont the Lady Indians were determined to get back on the winning side of things. They hosted Lapel on April 18th, The Lady Indians came out victorious 7-3. Erika Foy pitched a Complete game of 7 innings and she added 4K’s along with the win. Mallory Sands went 4/4 with a HR and 6RBI’s. And then it was on to Huntington North. The Lady Indians picked up a 7-6 victory over the Lady Vikings. Freshman Lexi Cruzan was 2/4 with 2 doubles including a bases loaded base clearing double, Cruzan had 4RBI’s and was responsible for 5 of the teams 7 runs. It was time for the Lady Indians to open up conference play against the Madison Grant Lady Argylls. This performance may have been the one the worst outings in quite sometime for the Lady Indians. The Lady Indians were only able to muster a total of 3 hits and the slow but killer pitching from Lady Argyll Maddi Evans gave the Lady Indians fits. Evans had 12K’s against the Lady Indians. On Wednesday Night the Lady Indians would redeem themselves against Blackford defeating the Bruins 8-3. Erika Foy Pitched a Complete Game with 3 Hits and 9K’s. Mallory Sands was 3/3 with 4RBI’s.
